Find the Right Feed

Start with the roughage

Before choosing a Relax feed, look at the pasture or hay your horse has available. Is there enough, and is your horse maintaining condition on it? This helps you decide whether they need more fibre, a source of vitamins and minerals, or additional energy.

Whichever feed you choose, keep suitable roughage and fresh water available. Introduce new feeds gradually and adjust the amount to suit your horse.

Choose your starting point:

If you are looking for:

Fibre, vitamins, minerals and probiotics in ONE pellet

Choose

Why it may suit:

It combines highly digestible fibre, vitamins, minerals and probiotics in one grain-free, low sugar, low starch pellet.

Feed at the recommended rate for your horse’s size and workload to provide the intended nutrients.

If you are looking for:

Highly digestible fibre without added vitamins and minerals

Choose

Why it may suit:

It provides highly digestible fibre in a low sugar, low starch pellet. Add it to the bucket when your horse needs more fibre, while keeping the rest of their feeding routine flexible.

Super Fibre Plus is not fortified with vitamins and minerals. Check that the rest of your horse’s diet provides what they need.

If you are looking for:

A flexible fibre base with a concentrated pellet

Choose

Why it may suit:

Super Fibre Plus provides highly digestible fibre, while Super Balancer Plus adds vitamins, minerals, probiotics and amino acids in a concentrated pellet with a low daily feed rate.

Adjust the Super Fibre Plus to suit your horse and feed Super Balancer Plus at the recommended rate.

If you are looking for:

A flexible fibre base with a powdered supplement

Choose

Why it may suit:

Super Fibre Plus provides highly digestible fibre, while Everyday Vit & Min plus Probiotics supplies vitamins, minerals and probiotics as a powdered supplement.

Adjust the Super Fibre Plus to suit your horse and feed the supplement at the recommended rate.

If you are looking for:

Vitamins and minerals without adding much to the bucket

Choose

OR

Why it may suit:

If your horse maintains condition on pasture or hay and doesn’t need extra fibre in the bucket, either option can provide vitamins and minerals. Choose between the concentrated pellet or the powdered supplement to suit your feeding routine.

Feed your chosen product at the recommended rate and check what other fortified feeds already provide.

A little extra support, when it is needed

Once you’ve chosen the main feed, consider what else your horse’s routine calls for. These products can be added where they suit your horse’s diet, workload and individual needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

01. Does “Complete” mean I can skip hay?

No. Super Fibre Complete brings fibre, vitamins, minerals and probiotics together in one pellet, but your horse still needs suitable pasture or hay and fresh water.

02. Can I feed Super Fibre Plus on its own?

Super Fibre Plus adds highly digestible fibre to your horse’s feed and makes a great base for a balancer or supplement. It has no added vitamins or minerals.

03. My pony is a good doer. Where should I start?

Start with their body condition and the pasture or hay they have available. If they’re maintaining condition without a larger bucket feed, Super Balancer Plus or Everyday Vit & Min plus Probiotics can provide vitamins and minerals at a low feed rate. Follow the feeding guide for your pony’s size.

04. My horse has laminitis or EMS. Which Relax feed should I consider?

Super Fibre Plus is a low sugar, low starch source of digestible fibre. When feeding a horse with laminitis or EMS, consider the sugar and starch in their whole diet, including pasture and hay.

05. My older horse struggles to chew hay. Which Relax feed could help?

Super Fibre Plus can be soaked to make a soft, easy-to-eat feed. It adds highly digestible fibre to the bucket for older horses with worn or missing teeth. Check that your horse is getting enough fibre overall, particularly if they can no longer eat much hay.
